Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Staff IT Software Engineer to join the CPQ (Configure Price and Quote) team. This role focuses on designing and developing AI-powered systems for the company's go-to-market platform. The successful candidate will drive technical design, deliver scalable technology products, and collaborate across product and engineering teams to elevate engineering standards. Responsibilities include building scalable AI-powered business systems, championing agile development practices, mentoring junior engineers, and representing the team in cross-functional technical discussions. Required Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a Master’s degree, or a PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Candidates must have strong server-side development experience (Java, Go, Spring/Spring Boot), expertise in microservices architecture, and proven experience building production applications using LLM APIs (e.g., Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, Anthropic). Familiarity with vector embeddings, semantic search, similarity-based retrieval, and LLM security (prompt injection prevention) is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience architecting conversational AI platforms, chatbots, or Text-to-SQL systems, along with proficiency in CI/CD tools (Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker) and functional knowledge of CPQ platforms like Salesforce or Oracle CPQ. Working Arrangement: This is an on-site role based in Bangalore, India. Palo Alto Networks emphasizes in-person collaboration.
