Senior Software Engineer (Java), Enterprise

The Senior Software Engineer will join the Amelia Enterprise Conversational AI Engineering team at SoundHound AI. This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of key components within an AI-driven platform, focusing on scalability, security, and real-time AI processing. You will work in a cross-functional environment to integrate Conversational AI, LLMs, and NLP algorithms into enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop high-performance microservices and backend APIs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Optimize performance in distributed, high-traffic environments using caching and asynchronous processing.
• Deploy cloud-native applications using containerization technologies.
• Enhance real-time messaging and event-driven architectures.
• Implement enterprise-grade security protocols and CI/CD automation.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API design.
• Proven experience with microservices, distributed systems, and cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
• Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, Redis) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with AI/ML, NLP, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with real-time messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebSockets).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with graph algorithms, process engines, and enterprise AI architectures.
• Understanding of security best practices (OAuth, SAML, JWT).
• Exposure to frontend technologies like React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Contributions to open-source projects or research in AI/ML or distributed systems.

This position is based in Bengaluru and operates on a hybrid work model.
