About this role
The Senior Finance Specialist (Data & AI) will serve as a hands-on contributor responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, applications, and AI-powered tools to support the Finance and Accounting organization at Databricks. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance Data and AI, the role bridges engineering rigor with deep finance domain knowledge. Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining ETL pipelines using Databricks Lakehouse and Python/PySpark to automate financial processes such as revenue, expenses, and commissions. Building finance data pipelines using Databricks Jobs and Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines. Developing AI-assisted tools for workflow automation and anomaly detection. Creating finance applications using Databricks Apps, Genie Spaces, and AI/BI dashboards. Ensuring data integrity, supporting financial close processes, and implementing row-level security. Adhering to Git-based version control and CI/CD processes to meet SOX compliance requirements. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in finance and accounting, data engineering, or finance systems. Proficiency in SQL and Python. Working knowledge of finance concepts like revenue recognition and financial reporting. Ability to translate complex finance requirements into technical solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or the Databricks platform. Experience with financial source systems like SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe, or Zuora. Exposure to AI/BI tools, Genie One, or LLM-powered applications. Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS or cloud infrastructure company.
