Senior Data Engineer

The Data Intelligence & Analytics organization at Cloudflare is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the team in Bengaluru. This role focuses on building and scaling internal data products, designing large-scale data systems, and developing end-to-end applications that transform complex datasets into business-critical products. You will work at the intersection of data platforms, distributed systems, and product development, contributing to AI-ready data layers and modern AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core components of data pipelines and services using Go and Scala.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design solutions for strategic initiatives and agentic AI architectures.
• Contribute to the evolution of the data platform architecture, focusing on scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Build and curate high-quality datasets to power internal products, predictive analytics, and LLM-enabled features.
• Collaborate with global data engineering teams to improve data ingestion, quality, and governance.
• Mentor team members and drive technical standards across the organization.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or software engineering building production data systems.
• Strong programming expertise in Go, Python, or JVM-based languages.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with relational, analytical, or vector databases.
• Proven track record of driving projects in ambiguous environments.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Familiarity with container-based deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or LLM orchestration frameworks.
