Python ML /GenAI

Infosys Limited seeks a Python ML /GenAI professional in Bangalore for its Data & Analytics Unit. The role develops machine learning and generative AI components for natural language processing use cases, taking work from prototypes to production-ready implementations.

Responsibilities

• Build and fine-tune models with PyTorch, balancing accuracy, latency and resource efficiency. Design reproducible preprocessing and feature-engineering workflows for text datasets.
• Evaluate NLP and generative AI outputs, track metrics and improve models based on measurable results. Troubleshoot model and pipeline issues, perform root-cause analysis and improve reliability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to turn requirements into model and system designs. Write maintainable, documented and tested code using version control.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in engineering, computer science or a related field; listed qualifications include BE, BTech, MSc, MCA and MTech.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience building machine learning solutions with Python. Practical knowledge of NLP workflows, including tokenization, embeddings, text classification and sequence modeling, plus working knowledge of PyTorch training, fine-tuning and inference.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective collaboration with engineering and data stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications and good-to-have tools:

• Experience with transformer-based NLP or generative AI, including fine-tuning, prompt-based workflows and evaluation; exposure to experiment tracking, model versioning and reproducible training pipelines.
• Familiarity with deploying models as services, optimizing inference, and using modern data and ML tools for dataset handling, training acceleration and scalable experimentation. Clear communication of trade-offs and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders is preferred.
• Good-to-have tools include Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, vector databases such as FAISS or Pinecone, MLflow and Docker.
