Machine Learning-AI and Data Science Engineer II

Deloitte Consulting seeks an AI and Data Science Engineer II for its AI & Data team, with locations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune or Chennai. The role delivers large-scale data science and machine learning projects across industries, from understanding client problems through implementation, while producing high-quality work within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze requirements with client and on-site teams, applying industry knowledge to business problems and use cases. Collaborate with data engineers, ML/AI engineers, DevOps professionals and other stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Work across the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, deployment and defect resolution. Conduct peer reviews and participate in Agile sprint planning, retrospectives and effort estimation.
• Apply mathematics, statistics, AI and cognitive techniques to process data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions. Contribute to data and analytics platforms that integrate structured and unstructured data, and recommend automation and process improvements.
• Share business-process knowledge, support team training and, as needed, mentor or direct junior colleagues and coordinate with on-site and offshore teams.

Required qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant hands-on experience in data science, machine learning and statistical modeling. Strong experience with Python, PySpark and SQL, and frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas and Scikit-learn.
• Expertise in classification, regression, time series, decision trees and optimization; hands-on knowledge of Docker, Git, and Tableau or Power BI. Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake or hyperscaler platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP and NVIDIA.
• A BE, B.Tech, MCA, MSc in computer science or equivalent degree from an accredited university.

Preferred qualifications

• Cloud or on-premises model deployment experience is an added advantage. The posting also prefers candidates who follow data science and ML research and can present effective approaches, and those with an AI or cloud certification from a premier institute.
