ERM seeks a FinOps and AI Optimisation Specialist to improve the financial performance and governance of cloud platforms and enterprise AI tools. The role connects finance, procurement, technology and business teams to increase spending transparency, reduce costs and demonstrate the business value of technology investments. The posting lists Bangalore, Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai, India as locations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve FinOps practices across cloud and AI platforms. Monitor spending trends, identify savings, and report on AI tool consumption, adoption, licensing efficiency and business value.
- Build cost allocation and chargeback models; support annual budgets, forecasts and long-term investment plans for cloud, SaaS and AI platforms. Present spending insights, risks and optimisation recommendations to senior leaders and budget owners.
- Work with engineering and development teams on cost-efficient architecture and operations. Collaborate with finance, procurement, technology leaders and business stakeholders on investment decisions, balancing cost, risk and value.
- Develop processes and controls for AI tool selection, approval, monitoring and lifecycle management. Track approved tools, adoption, spending and unauthorised use; support compliance with data governance, privacy, security and responsible AI policies. Escalate material cost, compliance, governance or value-realisation concerns with evidence and practical solutions.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance or a related quantitative discipline, plus 5+ years in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology financial management or a related field.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP billing and cost management; experience implementing FinOps practices and governing, monitoring or optimising enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Claude Enterprise or ChatGPT Enterprise.
- Budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cost-modelling skills; experience with Power BI, SQL, Excel or similar reporting tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
Preferred qualifications
FinOps Foundation certification; experience with CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability or comparable tools; knowledge of Technology Business Management principles; experience designing enterprise AI usage controls or working in consulting, professional services or a global matrix organisation; and familiarity with data governance, privacy, security and responsible AI.
