About this role
The Director of Software Engineering will lead the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) at Intuit, the AI engine powering assisted services for over 100 million customers. This role is pivotal in transforming the platform from supporting expert interactions to orchestrating AI-native, agentic customer and expert experiences at scale. Responsibilities include driving platform transformation to be AI/Agentic ready, leading a team of approximately 90 engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, and managing strategic partnerships across business and technology stakeholders. The Director will also serve as the VEP India site leader, overseeing talent hiring, development, and employee engagement. Required qualifications include 18+ years in the software industry with at least 7 years in an executive engineering leadership role, proven experience shipping AI/ML in production for consumer-facing products, and a deep understanding of modern platform architecture, distributed systems, and agentic AI. Candidates must have experience leading large engineering organizations through platform transformations and building influence across time zones. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. The role demands technical credibility with senior engineers and the ability to drive outcomes independently.
