Databricks Architect-Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II

The Lead AI and Data Solutions Engineer II at Deloitte Consulting will oversee the technical delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, lead cross-functional and global teams, and mentor junior members. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand business requirements, providing architectural recommendations, and driving end-to-end project delivery including estimation and planning. The position is part of the AI & Engineering team, which focuses on building and operating integrated data and AI platforms to transform mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with functional teams and clients to define business requirements and solution visions.
• Oversee technical delivery, providing architectural and implementation guidance.
• Direct the design and development of scalable data solutions and pipelines.
• Manage project risks, prepare status reports, and facilitate communication across teams.
• Support sales and proposal efforts with technical input and estimations.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure adherence to best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in architecture, design, and implementation of highly distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including end-to-end deployment of BI solutions.
• Experience in cloud migration, defining high-availability/DR solutions, and cloud strategy.
• Proficiency in E2E ETL design, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience implementing data lakes with batch and streaming data using Unity Catalog.
• Exposure to the Azure data platform (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Cosmos DB, etc.).
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, PySpark, Scala, or Bash.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, MCA, or M.Sc (CS).
