The Data Scientist role at Cognizant involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced Agentic AI systems. You will be responsible for building autonomous AI agents capable of complex planning, reasoning, and tool usage, while managing multi-agent workflows and orchestration pipelines. This position requires integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with APIs, databases, and enterprise applications, as well as implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines. You will also develop scalable backend services and microservices to support AI applications and optimize the performance, latency, and cost of AI systems in production environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Engineering, and Product, is essential to ensure best practices in testing, monitoring, and deployment. Mandatory skills include proficiency in Python, Langchain, LangGraph, Agentic AI, API integration, and LLMs. The role is based in Bangalore, India, and operates on a hybrid work model.
