The Data & AI Governance Specialist plays a critical role in balancing regulatory safety with high-velocity innovation at Booking.com. You will be part of the Data & AI Governance Department, translating complex digital regulations into practical, agile practices for product and tech teams. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of governance, including maintaining the Data Catalogue and AI Registry, and conducting quality control reviews to ensure a compliant environment. Key Responsibilities: Data & AI Governance Compliance Operations: Oversee compliance dashboards, monitor critical parameters, and operationalize governance frameworks. Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring: Act as a subject matter expert on digital regulations (DMA, EU AI Act, GDPR), build compliance monitoring plans, and identify/remediate compliance risks. Adoption, Culture & Change Management: Drive the adoption of governance tools, simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and embed automated compliance checkpoints into agile processes. Policy Maintenance & Reporting: Maintain the compliance resource library, own the remediation process for identified deficiencies, and prepare data artifacts for internal and external audits. Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must have 10 years of experience in Data Governance and Compliance, or alternatively, 3+ years of experience working with data in roles such as Data Analysis or Business Analysis. You must possess exceptional communication skills, a thorough understanding of risk management procedures, and the ability to solve complex, non-standardized problems independently while working with diverse stakeholders.
