The AI Security Architect is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing security controls for AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions across State Street’s technology environment. This role partners closely with engineering, product security, and platform teams to ensure AI capabilities are delivered securely, responsibly, and in alignment with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: Designing secure architecture patterns for AI/ML and GenAI systems, including data pipelines and model access; developing AI security standards and guardrails; performing AI-focused threat modeling to identify risks like data leakage, prompt injection, and insecure model access; integrating AI security controls into DevSecOps workflows; and supporting audit, risk, and compliance efforts. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field; 5–7 years of experience in application, product, cloud, or security engineering roles; experience securing cloud-native applications in an enterprise environment; and familiarity with secure software development practices. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant security or cloud certifications; exposure to AI/ML or data-driven systems; and experience working in regulated environments. The role requires strong technical fundamentals in security architecture, the ability to communicate technical risks to engineering audiences, and a collaborative, execution-focused mindset.
